Aubrey's Pond/ Nature Notes

These were captured around a small pond owned by our friend Aubrey

The dragonfly is a white-faced meadowhawk. Moving clockwise: heal-all a.k.a. selfheal (Prunella vulgaris), honeysuckle berries, fringed yellow loosestrife (Lysimachia ciliata), swamp vervain (Verbena hastata) and tall meadow rue (Thalictrum polygamum).

Awesome collage...must say I love that dragonfly most of all. I don't think I have ever seen one that color.

This is a beautiful mosaic of the creatures and plants found at Aubrey's Pond. The individual pictures are beautiful.

I love how you know the names of all these flowers. I know the garden varieties of verbena, and I've heard of rue and honeysuckle, but I doubt I would be able to identify them in the wild. So pretty.
